As suggested above sometimes a related website sometimes completely unrelated website. Other times I've opened norton and a a popup shows up on top of norton advertising norton tech support (third party of course). Mapstrek and hublmedia are two names sometimes on different popups. I think I am just missing the obvious. Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi, it would be good if you can get the addresses those put out. Report them to Norton if fake ads for them : https://submit.symantec.com/antifraud/phish.cgi and https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en Also Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Help --> Report Deceptive Site which goes to the above Address.

You may want to switch to uBlock Origin for a adblocker along with Ghostery as they each use different teck and are stronger than Adblock Plus which allows paid ads. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ghostery/ https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Note : They can break sites and video, is a learn but ghostery can help set up uBlock with the info being blocked.
