Now... about those other things you imported. What were those? Certainly some add-ons will increase memory use.

And there are some sites that cause Firefox to use a lot of memory, for example, the Facebook news feed, Tumblr, and Twitter, because more and more content keeps getting added into the same page as you scroll down.

it only gives me the date no item count when I do that.

The short answer is yes but not that much unless it is always contacting the website it points at.

If low on ram can increase your swap file and that may help if have hard drive room to do so. MICROSOFT VIRTUAL MEMORY

You may want to try this: Open the System Folder then Click on left side Advanced System Settings which opens System Properties click the Advanced Tab then click Performance button Settings then the Advanced Tab then Click the Change under Virtual Memory click Custom Size and Change Size to where it says Recommended Size then Click Set and then Click Apply then please Re-boot.

System - -> Advanced System Settings --> System Properties - -> Advanced Tab - -> Change Virtual Memory - -> Custom Size - -> ENTER Recommended Size - -> Set - -> Apply-- > Reboot

Okay I know this is a slightly old form thread, whatever at this point but I recently did a Firefox refresh and I go from 500+ mb to 200 . Though there was still a lot of MB usage when I disabled my add-ons or restarted Firefox with add-ons disabled. So it must be my bookmarks but I don't exactly understand what's going on with that. I even reorganized my bookmarks and everything to have them in nice folders and everything so it wasn't like actively taking up space on my bookmarks toolbar just in case that was the issue but it wasn't fixed. Is there any way I can get in contact with someone who actually might know something besides the forms as I don't want to/can't get rid of all my bookmarks.And save data.

It seems to be any time I add a add-on such as grammarly or ublock [origins]? my Firefox memory usage seems to be more, going from 130 200 to 400 500+ mb usage what can I do? And even disabling the add-ons when I'm not currently using them doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm running a Windows 1064 bit machine with that I seven processor so it's not like I'm trying to run this on old hardware.

Where are you seeing the memory use? For example, Task Manager / Resource Monitor? I don't know whether anything in this article is helpful: Firefox uses too much memory or CPU resources - How to fix.

Are you seeing more than one instance of a Firefox Icon before ? As multi-processing may have been on and is not on now.

Type about:support (copy/paste) into address bar and check what ir says : Multiprocess Windows

I experienced today high usage and in that same window you can click about memory it will show a list of things and urls. If it states Ghost Sites and has multiple entries (bug). Close off all tabs except the memory and click refresh a bunch of times. That should clear the Ghost addresses.

I would hope that this issue is known and being looked after.
