At the moment when opening firefox it opens with about 20 tabs. That's great for weekdays but at weekends I only want some of thos tabs to open plus some different tabs. Is it possible to have 2 versions of firefox on my computer - a weekday version and a weekend version?

Look for a Session Manager extension, to allow you to save multiple Tab groups and be able to select which "group" that you want to use.
