Why is Google Calendar now unresponsive in FF 31.0?
My housemate (an avid Apple user) and I share a Google calendar. Up until about a week ago, I could open Google calendar in Firefox (v31.0) and simply add my events. Now, nothing responds, nothing clicks. If I use Chrome, all is well. FF is my browser of choice. Did some settings of mine get changed somehow? Must I tweak?

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
- In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on Help (or click on Help in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache
- Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button with a left click.
- Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows and Linux)
- Press Command + Shift + R (Mac)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
Clear the Cache: Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
Remove Cookies from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Thanks, lj - but nothing changed. My idiot tech-support guy told me to fix the problem, just use Chrome. Jerk. I'd really like to get our Google calendar working again in Firefox.
Anyone else have ideas?

iamjayakumars, thanks - I finally found out what the prob was... I'd recently installed an add-on called Toolbar Autohide 6.5.11. I systematically disabled my add-ons, and here's what's weird - if I REMOVE this add-on, the problem persists. If I simply DISABLE this add-on, the problem is solved!
Weird, eh?
Anyway, for anyone else having the problem of Google calendar suddenly being unresponsive in FireFox, go through all your add-ons and, one-by-one, disable them, then see if Google Calendar works or not.
