Can't open my yahoo.com email account. Here's the address: http://us.mg2.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch

It shows "bad request" on the tab. I have tried opening it from yahoo.com. Can't get anywhere. I want to be able to use Firefox on my Mac (Safari is locking up all the time on this very same URL. Maybe there is a connection. I've spent lots of time with the Apple techs trying to solve the Safari issue but nothing has worked.) Thanks for whatever help you can give us.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

I just installed Firefox on my Mac and have no cookies yet, I'm sure. I've been having problems with Safari locking up and was told by one of their supervisors to download and use Firefox to get around the problem. Safari only locks up with Yahoo mail. I'm pretty much unable to access my yahoo mail on my Mac.  :( Any suggestions?

Try to delete the files cookies.sqlite anyway to see if that helps.
Also make sure that you have the latest version of SQLite installed, verify that via update.
