Firefox 4.0.1 content/default font not finding arialn.ttf in Windows 7 font directory

I have Arial Narrow installed in Windows 7 control panel/fonts (I can see it when I double-click on Arial). To test, when I tried to copy arialn.ttf into the control panel fonts directory, it tells me it’s already installed. When I go into Firefox/tools/options/content, and attempt to set up the default font, it comes back with Arial, Arial Rounded MT, and Arial Unicode MS but no Arial Narrow; same under Advanced/Serif. Web pages are behaving as if it can't find Arial Narrow and is using a default font.
