I would like the one inch banner at the top of the newest Thunderbird version(102.5.1) to revert to what I had before which would be any light background with black print. The colors at the top of this page Firefox page are perfect. I can't read the black on charcoal. That must be an error.

can you access Tools / Addons and themes ? if yes choose 'themes' and select the system theme. If not try to right click the top of the window and check 'Menu bar'.
