I'm getting an increasing number of emails - mainly from businesses I deal with - that display a large image with the subject line of the mail when it appears in the message pane.

An example would be a music company I deal with has a picture of a guitar superimposed on the subject line.

This makes the message pane cluttered and I find it annoying.. Is there any way to prevent these displaying or better still prevent them from being downloaded?

TBird 52.9.1 (64 bit) on a Linux system

I have a Linux Mint operating system, I use both Firefox (52.9.0 ESR, 64bit) and Thunderbird (52.9.1, 64bit). When I open an email link, Firefox opens, but will only display the homepage, not the link. I have to cut and paste the link into Firefox to see it.

If I already have Firefox open, clicking on the email link will open a new window of Firefox, but only access the homepage.

I could find no remedy online for this problem.

I'm running Thunderbird 52.8.0 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, and I can not find where to change the settings for how quickly an email is marked as read. All of the other posts on this subject seem to be talking about Windows rather than Linux, and the setup is clearly quite different, ie in Thunderbird for Windows, it's Tools > Options > Display > Advanced; in Thunderbird for Linux, I presume it's somewhere under Edit > Preferences, but I can't find it anywhere. Can anybody please help?

I can type my signature content but there is no formatting bar at all. I'm using the TB new beta 60 version.

When I go to open Thunderbird, I get a window telling me that there is an incompatible add on, it gives me the choice to ignore or search for an up to date version of the add on. When I click on either of these the window closes for a minute then reopens with the same message in a vicious circle. Thunderbird itself won't open and can only be shut down by force quit.

I have removed all that I can find to do with Thunderbird (previous versions etc) and reinstalled thunderbird from a fresh download to no avil. I'm using OS X Yosemite and Thunderbird 52.7.0

I am trying to permanently add the Size column to the search messages pop-up window when I try to search my emails.

In older Thunderbird versions, you had the capability to add the 'Size' column to the 'Search Messages' window when search emails. That is proving difficult to do in v52.7.
