Using TB 60.3.1 (32-bit)

It seems that with TB 60, the Add On "Change quote and reply format" is no longer compatible. This add-on allowed me to have TB close the original message window when I hit "Reply".

Is there now a setting in TB itself that would allow this? Or is there another way to make this happen?

Thank you!

Using TB 60.3.1 32 bit Windows 10

After this update, I have to allow remote content - even if I allowed it from the sender in the past, and even if the sender is already in my address book.

Did installing this update essentially delete all my previous "allow" selections? Is there a way to allow remote content if the sender is already in my address book?

Thank you -

Recently installed TB 60.3.1 (32-bit)

In prior releases, when I began typing an email address in the search bar (ctrl+k) it would show a suggestion list of matching emails. With this new release, no suggestions are ever shown in the search bar.

Can this be re-enabled via a setting?

Hi,

Installed was Thunderbird 60.3.1 but I had to delete this and re-install version 52.5 because an extremely important function does not work in the new version: I MUST be able to switch between GUI languages.

The problem: general.useragent.locale is ignored.

I like the new version, but for now I can't use it. Is there a way to get around this? Installing other versions or other profiles is unacceptable. I mus be able to switch quickly betweeb gui languages.

In the previous version of TB, when doing a drag and drop of a message into the folder, the mouse pointer would be just an "document" icon. In the 60 version, it is now dragging the whole subject line, which makes it very very difficult to see what folder I'm trying to drop it into. The icon version was much easier to see.

Is there a way to control (revert) this behavior, even if it is editing a .js file?

Linux, fedora 19 (yes that's old, I'm working on building a new box, but I doubt this will impact the behavior.)

Thanks!

Tools>Options missing, trying to change read/unread delay settings - solution

FYI - I've been using T=Bird for years so not a noob. Developers: This is an important security feature and should be repaired.

Just "upgraded" to 18.04 Xubuntu 32-bit which includes T-bird 60.2 and experienced the following. (no add-ons) New messages were being marked "read" immediately when moused over or selected, no delay. Not usually a problem because there was a settings in Tools>Options>Display... The problem is that with 60.2 this Tools feature is gone (on my install) and there is no access to the unread/read delay setting. I solved the problem by going into the flags ("Here be Dragons", accessed via Preferences>Advanced > Config Editor) Warning! Do not use the config editor unless you are confident you won't damage anything. Open Config Editor> Search: "message_read" no quotes You should see the three results / flags below. To enable delay change "read.delay;false" to true. This is done by either a double click or right click > select Toggle. After you change it it will be bold, that's normal. It's just to let you know it was modified. Leave the other two as is unless you want more or less of a delay then change the number at "delay.interval" mine was 5 so it's fine. Leave "read.auto" set to true. Close the editor and it's done.

(this is how it looks when delay is disabled) mailnews.mark_message_read.auto;true mailnews.mark_message_read.delay;false mailnews.mark_message_read.delay.interval;5

(this is delay enabled) mailnews.mark_message_read.auto;true mailnews.mark_message_read.delay;true mailnews.mark_message_read.delay.interval;5

That's it. Your messages will now change from unread to read in 5 seconds not instantly. If you have the Tools>Options on your system by all means avoid the Config Editor but since it's missing on mine it's probably missing on others' as well. I searched for a solution before posting this and didn't find it so hope this is helpful to someone.

The Color Folders add-on was one of my favorite add-ons and worked in Thunderbird 60.0. Now, with the release of 60.3.0, it is now automatically disabled with the message: "... incompatible with Thunderbird 60.3.0"

If I had known this would happen I would not have upgraded. What was changed and why? I could not find a substitute add-on. Why doesn't T'bird publish a list of add-ons that won't work after an upgrade? I did not see anything so critical about the actual update and could have lived without it.

I also don't know why there were so many gui design changes. They were not necessary and, IMHO, made the gui less attractive. Are such changes evaluated in beta releases? Thanks to any and all who have answers to these.

Was difficult to get question into one sentence! When reading your incoming mail, moving to the next message happens automatically when you delete the first. However, sometimes you wish to move on without deleting the current message. The only way I have found is to go back to the inbox, and then select the next message, which is awkward. Outlook and Yahoo have up and down cursor keys for this function, but I cannot find any such in Mozella. Do they exist?

A second question: If you are receiving a message with a long chain of back-and-forth messages, it is useful to say delete all but the last couple before you print - you already may have printed those. In Outlook, you can highlight parts of the message, hit delete key and they go. I have found that if you try this is Mozella, the whole combined message disappears, not just the highlighted bits. Can you delete just parts of a message before printing?

Thanks - David Robinson, new to Mozella after ATT/SBC stopped supporting Outlook

Good afternoon!

Since the last update, the Latin dictionary add-on by Leszek Życzkowski has disappeared. I tried to reinstall it and I am getting the message it could not be installed "because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 60.3.0."

The Latin dictionary add-on is a great tool and I use it regularly for private e-mails and as a quick spell-check for my articles in Latin. It should remain available to the public. It would be a pity to see it go.

Kind regards, Gregory

My husband and I have identical Thunderbird installations on identical Windows 7 machines, and for years we have been using 'QuoteAndComposeManager version 0.4.1. This allows us to set a 'pause' of 20 seconds between the time we click on Send and the email actually gets sent (it's amazing how many errors you can find in 20 seconds). This feature is still working fine on my machine, but on his it has been disabled with the message that it is incompatible with Thunderbird 60.3.0.

Two questions here: My update history shows that I am set for automatic updates, but the last one was to version 52.9.1 on 16 July 2018. This probably explains why I can still use the QandCManager, but why are we getting updates at different times?

More importantly, is there some other add-on that we can use to get this time-delay option? I have gone to the original developer's website but he does not seem to have a later version.

Many thanks.
