As the subject says, Thunderbird 18.0 for Android keeps crashing silently. There doesn't appear to be any specific trigger; periodically, the app just disappears off screen. Since it doesn't seem to be related to a specific user action, I wonder whether a background process (such as server syncing) might be causing it. My device is a Samsung Tab A-9.

On a samsung a54 running android 16 and thunderbird 18.0, thunderbird crashes on trying to open a specific email from theglobesailer.com. it does contain quite a lot of images? Interestingly, it opens ok on my tablet running 17.0. I can't see anywhere obvious to submit a bug report, so maybe someone on here could pass it on, please?

After the most recent Thunderbird app update from Google play, the Thunderbird app crashes instantly and constantly on start up. I did restart, uninstall, reinstall, OS update, clear cache, smart clean and still the Thunderbird app crashes instantly on start up. The screen will flash a few times as the app attempts to start. But instantly a window pops up saying the app has unfortunately shutdown. I am at witts end. I have been using Thunderbird for years. Never had this happen before. Anyone have any ideas? Google suggests getting hold of Mozilla support because this is becoming an on going issue. Please help.

I use K9mail on multiple devices since eternity. Since the latest update it crashes on an old Galaxy S10 / Android 8 when fetching images (show remote images) or, it looks like, when the message has images.

It crashes on 80% of mails with image. I can provide you with messages that reliably crash (e.g. newspaper newsletter from nzz.ch) and with only one that works (newspaper newsletter from 20minutes.ch) Plain text and plain HTML text messages seem to work fine.

it works fine on all other [android 12+] devices Re-install the current version did not help re-installing an older version from FDROID worked

Help is apprechiated

Hi. I'm on the latest Thunderbird Beta for Android. I have recently received some emails from a university (probably sent from Outlook), containing a couple of attachments (signatures), and the moment I click to open any of them, Thunderbird just restarts. The messages can be opened easily from the Gmail app or from the GMX mail app. Any idea?

LE: just updated the app and the problem is gone, I suppose I'm not the only one who noticed it. Thank you
