Forum communautaire Thunderbird pour Android

I am a senior who has no desire to be in clouds, social media, etc. I have been using Thunderbird email on my laptop for about a year and a half now. Thank you for allowing me to keep my pop3 account, I have been very happy. I just want to have email on my phone because I like to get notice of email but I like to delete it and collect it on my laptop because it remains on the server. I periodically access the laptop and do all banking, etc. from there. Completely old school with local storage. Everything I have looked up said that I could still keep my pop3 account on my phone. I have a new Samsung A57 that I am trying to set up. The old phone had Outlook but it is locked out so I have to start from scratch. I thought I would rather do that with you than the others that seem to be taking all of our personal data over and leaving us no choice in how we would like to work. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

When I open my Inbox on Thunderbird for Android, the notifications are still displayed even after I close out of the app. So I have to always go back and manually swipe away all the notifications.

I have set up Push Notification and have a small blue icon at the top left of the screen and I will get notifications but then I notice it has gone quiet and the little icon has disappeared so I have to close Thunderbird and then restart it to get the icon back at the top of the screen. Any suggestions please as to what is causing this.

Hi everyone, I’ve been using Thunderbird on Android for emails, and I’ve noticed that notifications sometimes get delayed when I’m gaming on my phone. During longer gaming sessions, emails don’t show up right away and only appear after I exit the game or switch apps.

I’m guessing it might be related to background app restrictions or battery optimization, but I’m not completely sure. I’ve also noticed something similar while playing heavier or modded versions of Stick War: Legacy (https://stickwarmods.com/), where the game tends to keep the phone more “locked into performance mode,” and background apps (like email clients) seem to get deprioritized. In those cases, notifications also feel delayed until I minimize or close the game, which makes me think it’s more about Android’s background process management during sustained gaming sessions rather than the email app itself.

Has anyone else experienced delayed notifications with Thunderbird Android while gaming? Any tips on keeping notifications timely without affecting game performance would be really helpful.

Dear all, good evening With Thunderbirb for Android is not possible to read this massage. All other email clients has no problem. I attached picture to see the problem.

When I select text in message compose window, the text select colour remains white, same as the background colour. I'm using dark theme in message composer just to avoid this problem.

Miui - android 10 I think an update to Thunderbird broke this. Else it was working perfectly.

I had selected a couple of emails and went to press the menu button dots, but hit this button instead. Emails vanished.

How do I undo what I did?

I can't find a dummies guide to the basic android app interface.

I installed Thunderbird for Android beta at my smartphone. After importing my account from the desktop version of Thunderbird I don't see the subfolders of my inbox. How can I show subfolders in the app for Android?

I'm using Thunderbird on my Chromebook. I can't use the pointer to open the "more options" menu (the three dots) in the email to get to forward and other options. Hovering over the dots shows the "More Options" message, but clicking does not open the menu. I have a touch screen chromebook and discovered that I can touch the three buttons and it opens. Once the menu is opened, the mouse pointer works to select forward and the other options.

I have used K9 mailer for perhaps 5 years quite happily - this is my first question please.

In general I use "unified inbox" and sort the messages by "Date". This shows almost all messages sorted by the date/time they were sent, which is what I want. I often turn my tablet off for hours or days and then back on, so arrival time is delayed, but date/time sent is not.

My ReoLink cameras are configured to email me images under certain conditions. these messages always sort to the top, even though they were dated some time back. For example I turned on my tablet today (Monday) for the first time since Saturday, and received much mail. the ReoLink messages sorted right at the top. If I look at "show headers", at the end of the "received" field, it shows the correct original date of saturday morning. but the date/time at the far right of the "unified inbox" display shows the time at which I turned the tablet on and the message was received - only for this message, not for any others.

I am suspecting this may be a reolink problem, but not exactly sure what to tell them.

The automated email from one sender states in the Inbox summary that the email client does not support HTML (TB app for Android). Presumably the message format is changed accordingly. I don't see a setting for incoming email formatting. Can you help? Inbox summary view and partial view of opened message below.

I set the Visible Message Actions to Delete and Move.

But I get Delete and Mark as Unread.

Move is far more important to me than Mark as Unread - why can't I see/control this?

In Android Thunderbird version 18.0, embedded photos from my webcam are no longer immediately visible within the HTML email view and integrated into the message. Instead, they are now displayed as attachments. In all other clients, as well as in Thunderbird for Desktop, everything still works as expected. It also worked correctly in previous versions. With version 18.0, without any changes to the settings, this behavior has changed.

This is incredibly annoying and makes it practically unusable. Is there a solution, and is this recognized as a bug or intended as a security feature? If it is the latter, I kindly request that it be made configurable in the settings.

I am using Thunderbird on Linux, there is an option to delete mail on trash on exit, and that worked. I don't see such option on the Android version, and the notification did not clear even I deleted all the mail.

I have unified inbox. If I want to view other folders e.g. sent them navigation is painful. Other android apps make navigation much simpler. Am I missing something
