I am no longer able to open in Mac Preview or save when hitting Command + P, then 'print using system dialog'. It will only print instead. For instance, I save certain web pages as PDFs using the print dialog and now it will only print when trying to use either the save or preview options. Command + P, print using system dialog, then I choose either save as PDF or open in Mac Preview, but as soon as I do one of these it will only print. I am able to use save in the drop-down list of printers, but I need to be able to open in Mac Preview.

Since the update to Firefox a few days ago, I am no longer able to view PDFs in the browser. They still open, but they show up as blank pages. Is there a way to fix this or to revert back to the previous version of FF?
Thanks.

When viewing pdf files created from MS Word (.docx) documents and sent to me I see white lines across some images but not all. This happens with Firefox on Windows 11 and linux mint (various versions). It is present on the images from the file as received and after uploading to a website. The images are OK if viewed using Opera or other browsers but the same problem is present on Thunderbird. The file below has the problem on 2 images when viewed on Firefox. https://www.kass.org.uk/Documents/NewsletterFrom251114/20260304%20March%20Newsletter.pdf I have caused the writer of the article a lot of trouble because I blamed her file which seems to be OK. Can you help? Thanks Brian

I'm filling out an appcation for a study permit in canada. My university website said that i should download adobe acrobat reader and use it to open the application pdf. I didn't want to pay for adobe, so i opened it with firefox instead. In the document, there are tab selections that it allows so you can select answers accurate to you and fill out the document. But at the top of the document it says I should enable javascript by going to preferences, then edit, and and then reopen the form. How can I enable javascript in firefox? I'm having difficulty finding the preferences and edit sections.

1. Have read some recent questions which are similar. 2. My current Firefox is 151.04 (64 bit) I use Windows 11 Home 3. My problem relates to payroll in QuickBooks and has only occurred for payroll run after 20th May 2026. PDF's for payrun dated 20th May 2026 open with no problem. Any payroll reports after that date fail.
I download payrun report and the page in firefox browser tab shows a 0 of 0 display (not the normal report)
The file is sitting in browser download, as well as my C drive file explorer under 'downloads'
When I double click, or highlight and select open, or highlight and select open with - my SodaPDF app displays a message indicating it failed to open a file.
4. Queried QuickBooks who believe it is a compatibility error.
5. Queried app provider (Soda PDF) and have been doing checks with them, but not able to resolve at this time.
6. Last resort went into QuickBooks using Microsoft Edge - file opened in SodaPDF with no problem.
As my preference is Mozilla browser, would like to have resolved ASAP, otherwise I need to use another browser. Await your advice - Kind regards

The original post is one of the top search engine results, and provides a bandaid solution, without addressing the proper root cause, so I want to help whoever stumbles over this.
Original problem:
Dale 1/9/21, 8:26 AM
Firefox Developer Edition 85.0b4, macOS 10.15
If I Google for a PDF and click a link, I get the Firefox download dialog. If I select "Open with Firefox [Developer Edition]", the following things happen:
The PDF is downloaded to ~/Downloads The PDF is opened in a new tab, with that new tab's location bar holding a file:///... URL to the downloaded PDF
What I would instead like to happen is:
The PDF is downloaded to some temporary directory where I won't have to worry about deleting it manually In whatever tab the PDF is displayed in, the location bar contains the URL where the PDF was (temporarily!) downloaded from
How can I achieve this?
Not having the URL where a PDF was opened from is very annoying when, for example, I open a bunch of PDF search results to read and review, and I later want to share links to some of those PDFs. Best I can do to find their URLs to give to others is then to try and remember which tab corresponds to which search result, or do mine the downloads tab.
Contrast this with Chrome: I click a Google result for a PDF and the PDF just opens in the current tab with the URL to the PDF in the location bar. No dialogs, no PDF files hanging around in my home directory, and I can just copy the URL to the PDF the same way I'd copy the URL to any web page.
Thank you!

Sigh. It appears the problem was one or both of the following preferences:
pdfjs.enabledCache.state: false pdfjs.migrationVersion: 2
I deleted both, and now clicking on a PDF just opens in the sane, normal way in Firefox that I desire.
Naturally I have no idea how those got set.

I would have attached one of the labels so you can see for yourself but you only accept images.
Ask me and I will send you one.

Trying to not just edit a PDF in Firefox on Linux but actually edit the document using its Dynamic-XFA format elements of that PDF. XFA is an Adobe proprietary format that they depreciated several years ago but it still works in Adobe Acrobat Free. (I use a Windows guest VM for this as a workaround for now but I'd rather not since it takes extra resources and time). Elements can be filled in FF and some menu drop downs work in FF but other dynamic XFA element buttons don't respond like the one I attached.
In Acrobat the "X" and "Add Contact" buttons will add or remove some elements to the document.
Can this be done in FF desktop?
Version 151.0.1 (64 bit) on desktop PC.
In about:config I know there are a lot of options to modify under the search term "pdfjs" but I don't know what element would allow this to possibly work if its supported.
I wish I had other better options but government documents are what they are.

Well, there is a bug with your downloading files configurations that REALLY ANNOYS me, which is, i want to always select where to save my downloaded files, no problem with that, i just set all configurations to "always ask", but sometimes, especially for pdfs, i want to just open them, without the need to save them to my computer, so the only one i have set as "open with firefox" is the pdfs, and if i want to download them, i just do so by clicking the download button on the corner. BUT, with this configuration, if there is a button to download a pdf, without opening it previously, it will skip the "ask where to download" pop-up, which is a pain in the ass, as usually want my stuff in specific folders, not the general downloads one. And even iff i set pdfs to "always ask" and then chose to open with firefox, it will automatically download it (???????) to the downloads folder, and then open it from my pc, even tho it could open it from the file in the server, which is what i wanted. I just switched to firefox, please fix this awful feature and dont make me find another browser.
firefox not opening adobe
I exported my Obsidian notes to PDF, but when I opened it on Firefox, it was not rendering properly, It was opening normally on another browsers.
why out of 159 pages are they not numbered????
I am unable to save or open PDF . It says I violated guidelines but I'm not sure what i did
Firefox 150.0.2 no longer opens PDF files, fix? Worked flawlessly until latest update, now all pages of PDF are blank (open fine with Brave browser)
I've been told that Firefox can be used to edit stored .pdf documents, but I can't find a toolbar that has editing commands.
