Hi, I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 home. One of the things that has changed is that my downloads don't stay. After closing Firefox the download is there but if you click on it it says "File missing or moved".

What follows describes what I think is an annoying bug, and as I'm writing a draft of the bug report, I thought I'd post it here first to make sure it's understandable, and if possible to get others to confirm the bug.

In Tools - Settings - Files and Applications, with the following settings: - Always ask you where to save files is ON - What should Firefox do with other files? is set to Ask whether to open or save files

If a file type is not defined in the Applications list/grid, Firefox 140.4.0esr displays the Open or Save box (only Save for .exe files) If you click Save, FF opens a save window according —logically— to the path defined in Tools - Settings - Files and Applications - Downloads, so - The list of files shown to the right is correct, - But the path shown in the toolbar above it is wrong (> ComputerName > C:\ > in my case), - And the selected folder in the navigation column to the left is also wrong (ComputerName in my case)

and that always throws me off.

The bug appeared before FF v140.4.0

Test downloads - Go to https://openexr.com/en/latest/test_images/TestImages/AllHalfValues.htm and click the link below the AllHalfValues.exr title - Go to https://www.picsellia.com/post/tiff-tag-image-file-format and right-click on one of the pictures at the top, select Save Image as from the context menu.

I regularly update a JSON file from VMware. In the past (before March this year), when I clicked the link below, and then clicked "save", the file I was viewing was saved, as expected.

Since I tried this in March, it would display the new updated file when I click on the link. I then click Save, and the old file that was last saved months back is saved. Even deleting the file in the Downloads folder still saves the old file data.

I found that if I deleted all cookies and cached data for vmware.com, that the next time the latest file would be saved. I last did that in June. Today, in July, I view the file as dated 18 July, but when saved, the data from 17 June is saved in Downloads.

I'm running the latest Windows 140.0.4 (64-bit) Firefox on Windows Server 2022.

Is this a bug with JSON files? Is there something I need to do? This used to work.

Is is possible to disable the Autorun feature for downloaded video files in Firefox? I tried the Settings, Privacy & Security, Autoplay changing the setting to Block Audio & Video, but after the file downloads it still runs automatically.

This functionality would save users a considerable amount of time and effort by eliminating the need to use third-party online converters or desktop software to transform PDFs into JPGs. Guten Abend, bisher konnte ich wenn ich mit Firefox arbeite und etwas herunter geladen habe, den Bereich für alle Downloads anzeigen immer als Tab anzeigen lassen, auch ohne dafür ein Addon zu installieren. Nachdem ich Firefox nun auf einem anderen Computer neu installiert habe, kriege ich diesen Bereich nur noch als neues Fenster angezeigt, was ich als sehr störend empfinde. Kann mir jemand weiterhelfen, wie ich das wieder so einstellen kann, das die Downloads wieder als Tab werden? ich weiß leider nicht mehr wie ich dies damals umgestellt hatte.
