Hi.

I am running Firefox 149.0.2 on Arch Linux (Linux 6.19.12-arch1-1 (x86_64)). I have configured Firefox to use the "~/downloads" folder for downloads instead of the default "~/Downloads". I have also checked the "Clear cookies and site data every time you close Firefox" box in the "Privacy & Security" tab of the settings page, and configured the History settings to "Never remember history".

The Downloads folder I have set is indeed respected by Firefox: all files I download are saved to "~/downloads". However, every time I close Firefox it creates a folder entitled "Downloads" (with a capital "D") on my home folder. I do not want this folder to be created.

This really looks like a bug from my perspective, but is there some way yo fix this via the "about:config" tab? Thanks for the attention.

Hi, I'm on Linux mint and I can't stop google calendar notifications from stealing focus from other windows. E.g. I can be typing in VSCode with firefox open in another window, and if a calendar notification triggers I'm suddenly typing in whatever tab I have open on firefox.

I've tried disabling notifications for the site, following [post] (though I don't have a padlock in my address bar, I just went to the settings manually), everything Claude can come up with on both the firefox and os level, etc. and nothing has worked.

I need the notifications to still be enabled at the calendar level (so that other devices have them), and I like having notifications in general, just the focus stealing is a dealbreaker so if I need to get rid of them on this device to end that then I'm okay with that. But really I just want to stop the focus stealing.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I can't activate the free VPN. I don't get the prompt for it and the only option in settings is the Mozilla VPN subscription.

Is there another way to activate it?

I couldn’t open our Dell OME (wouldn’t even bring up the login screen). I won’t go through everything I tried, but it seems to be the recent Firefox 150 update.

Same result on multiple PCs and in private mode, but worked in Edge or Chrome.

Australia has recently passed a boat load of laws and regulations based around internet browsing and needing to verify your age via ID/drivers license/passport/etc to get into some sites, having the free vpn would be great for us to have down under to get around this.

Does it work on the mobile version as well if you are signed in?

only one email kinda working now - [email 1 removed]@wolfgangforge.com (have 3 accounts total). i cannot even be sure you are getting my emails or that i am receiving any replies. when i close down ff and re-start, the email tab is gone and i must type in "https://sm1.toast.net/interface/root#/email" and login to get it running again. my most important email, [email 2 removed]@wolfgangforge.com is not. this folder has my business tabs (using the Simple Tabs add-on in ms windows 11) - about 700 tabs and about 30 groups. losing all this info would be a major disaster! it is like FF is installing for the first time and cannot find the Profiles folder. i've attached a screenshot to show the folder where the Profiles are presently kept.

i looked at the session-restore, but it appears that only goes back to the immediately previous session and since that one was fouled-up also, i can't see how that would help. wolfgang 503-475-3563

When I access one website ( https://investright.hdfcsec.com) for my Demat account, it opens a normal page . There is one more option to view my other holdings, by clicking one link in the current page,(it is supposed to open in next tab) but it does not open , but simply keeps showing it is accessing the page, endlessly , but never opens. But the Same website (https://investright.hdfcsec.com) opening in Chrome browser , opens the next page ( I desired to open other holding) instantly , without any Delay. Why there is problem to access in Firefox "next Link" on this website? How to resolve such an issue, as there is no error indication , but simply showing busy, in finding the next link? Is it that some things are preventing to open the Link?

Today I was prompted to restart Firefox. When I did, I got a homepage that said "Congratulations on 150 versions of Firefox" or something like that. Then I shut my computer down. When I booted it back up, ALL of my profiles, bookmarks and web history are gone. I can't find anything on my desktop to "restore" my old settings. I'm prompted to "create new" profiles. WTF is going on?!?!

THIS IS REDUNDANT; HOWEVER; SINCE MY LAST FIREFOX UPDATE ONE SITE I USE KEEPS TELLING ME TO TURN OFF THE POP UP BLOCKER IN MY BROWSER...AND I AM NOT HAVIJNG MUCH LUCK ON SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE SIMPLE ?

Download Issues My downloads have stopped displaying. Each page of a download is now just a black screen. Any advice as to how I can restore them?

I opened my computer after dinner and Firefox was gone and I have to start all over again! It wants a Mozilla account & sign in which I don't have. All my bookmarks are gone!!! It's all lost!!

In the before times I had a default profile (for fun) and an alternative profile (for serious stuff).

Now - even with the "-p" set in the shortcuts properties I'm always asked,

OR from the taskbar it's a lottery as to which is opened.

Simple request: have the shortcut respect the "-p" it has been fed in the shortcut & Have the taskbar ALWAYS pen the DEFAULT (fun) profile.

Im trying to sync my android to existing account on PC. Phone says my firefox login incorrect yet when I go to firefox settings , it shows my name and password that I used to try to log in with phone. I then tried the scan option, but when I phone up to pc screen to QR code, it just sits there. SO I think ill just change my password. I go to password change section and it sends me the code via email. I input the code and brings me to change password screen yet when i try to change it, it states the prepopulated old password is incorrect. I am logged into PC with this info so how is it incorrect?

Please, in laymans terms tell me how to get an older version of firefox without the tabs browsing. I just want a plain old search bar when I hit a new window. I want tabs gone.

I'd like to move the Firefox program files to a secondary hard drive without losing bookmarks, settings, etc. Please advise the best way to go about this. Win 11, Thank you.
