how do you play downloaded movies and videos. I click and double-click on it and most times will do nothing.

I don't know how to get the box to open to tell me my downloaded stuff without downloading something to get it to open. Some videos have played when I hit it's name...but most times nothing happens. Also I do not know how to erase downloaded movies once I've watched them as not to take up computer room.
