So even on a unprotected machine, some webpages VERY slow to load but not all. My internet provider, Virginmedia, is also my email provider and sometimes this email homepage times out. Had the same problem with win 10 and did think, wrongly, that installing win 11 would cure this. It did not. Any ideas on this. A good friend is a computer tech so you can get technical. In `task manger` anti virus etc has been stopped.

I would suggest you test your DNS provider and you may need to try another one. https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=flush+dns

Are you on WiFi or LAN? Also, how about a speedtest? Let's try Google

Having read and tried the above and have tried other things from other websites, the situation now is that this still happens but, for what ever reason like now, I do get on to the web but I can not tell if I will be able until a webpage appears. Someone has suggested that it is a conflict between my router and Nord but even with Nord disabled this still happens. Someone else suggested that I do a clean reinstall of Brave. Thanks for your input.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

So even on a unprotected machine . . .

You should get your system protected. There are a lot of bad people out there creating bad programs that want to infect others.
