Migrating Problem (Solution Can't Include Synching)

more options

I've migrated everything from an old desktop to a new desktop and this is being written on the new one. Firefox has been transferred and all my bookmarks have made the move accurately. However, my entire list of log-ins, passwords, add-ons, etc., have NOT made the move. So my question is about how to transfer those, but my situation is slightly abnormal.

I do not have a smart phone. Further, I cannot set up the old desktop and the new desktop so they both function at the same time. However, I do have complete backups in the cloud. What I need is the name of the Firefox file(s) that I can obtain from the cloud and insert into the Firefox iteration I have running on the new desktop.

If I was able to synch a transfer would be easier. But it can't be all that much harder if I can get the name and location of the necessary profile folder or file.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello Sack,

While i do not know the exact answer to your question regarding transferrring of passwords between systems, i would like to add my 2 cents regarding the hardware involved:

While the old desktop is no longer functional (or usuable) the hard drive may still be usuable. If so, you could connect it to your new system via usb and transfer files from it. I mean, just because the operating system is corrupted (or infected) does not mean that the file system is not accessible or that the physical hard drive cannot be useable

So the old hard drive may continue to serve you and your new system well by provlding additional storage for files and back ups too.
