Hi Rjzeref, I realize this is not obvious because the URL bar shows an address on the web, but Firefox's built-in PDF Viewer is considered to be part of the code of the program. It is a restricted page that extensions are not allowed to inject scripts into.

If you are working with a PDF on your system (file:/// address), you can view it in a web application version of the viewer. For example, Mozilla's demo site has an Open File button near the printer icon on its toolbar:

https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html

However, it might be just as easy to open it in a PDF viewer on your system that has a highlighting feature, if you have one.

Hi Rjzeref,

You might have already tried this, but I did find this addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/liner-web-pdf-highlighter/ Ensure that it's enabled in the about:addons page.

You could also use another application like https://pdf.online-reader.com/ to help.

Did that answer your question?
