I have a file C:/VolcanoRobot.class, created on a different system. It runs fine if I use java (command line). Firefox finds the file and asks if I want to load it. When I click LOAD, it merely creates a new tab and asks again...

Firefox does not know what to do with that file. Open the file browser on your system. Locate a .class file.

Right click on the file and select Properties. Under General, press the Opens With button.

You should never select Firefox as the application to handle a file when you get the "open with" dialog. Firefox would never ask if it could handle this file.

A .class file is probably a Java file and won't work in Firefox, but would have to be opened via Java or via JNLP.

FredMcD: Thank you. I conclude that firefox does not apply the plug-in for .class files, but only for applets. My reason for trying is to run java apps on a iPad using the firefox app.
