How do I get rid of this suspicious popup: "Your Firefox video player needs to be updated. Newest version released: September 12, 2015"?
I believe I have a piece of malware affecting firefox. I frequently get a popup, purportedly from Mozilla, saying: Your Firefox video player needs to be updated. Newest version released: [today's date]. Malwarebytes finds nothing. Trend Micro finds nothing. I find nothing. Can you offer any help.

However, I suspect that the issue could be caused by one of your addons. I think it may be the MediaPlayer 3.3.2 that you have installed.
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
