I have installed sync on the wrong computer first. How do I undo this.

I have a desktop and laptop. The latter has just had the hard drive replaced and I'm rebuilding content from the ground up. Towards syncing the laptop with my desktop and migrating all my firefox settings to the laptop, I inadvertently registered the account on the laptop which has no custom settings. Although it appears successful in that the laptop gave a message that syncing would occur, neither machine has replaced each others settings but remain independent. I can't find anywhere in the instructions how to deal with this. Can anyone help?

Hi Lynmn, The settings should expectantly merge, in order to troubleshoot the syncing you can:

  1. try to remove the account from Options/Preferences > Sync "Remove account".
  2. And re-add it at [accounts.firefox.com] and login.
  3. Then from the account settings int he Preferences/Options > Sync Menu, make sure preferences are selected.

Wait a bit for the first sync, or if you do not have too much time try Tools > Sync Now.
