I'm getting older and the default font is too small. I know how to make it bigger, but it would be logical to be able to set a default for the display. If I can make it bigger, why can't it load and run 'bigger', instead of every page or tab having to do CTRL + whatever to make it larger. I attempted to set it via the defaults in preferences, but that appears to do nothing. It's also a problem when you read e-mail (gmail) when the lines are tiny. Google doesn't seem to think it's their problem and from what I can read, Firefox doesn't either. I just want it 'zoomed' in without having to do it each time manually.

Thanks

Jack

There are a couple of add-ons which can "zoom" all sites to a certain default level. You can still fine-tune the size after that if some sites are still too small.

If you find the user interface (toolbars, menus) to also be too small, there is a hidden setting you can adjust. I'll spare you the details if you only want to zoom the page content.

Don't spare me the details, please. I think it's what I'm looking for... Is there a way to find questions that I have asked? It seems everytime I use this site, when I return to read a reponce I can't find the question! Seems like that would be a button or something to click on for a normal person using this site. Took me 20 minutes to click on the right thing to get here.

I even searched on the original post title and didn't find it???

Please let us know.... BTW I'm using Linux (Debian)..

You can look at this extension to adjust the font size for the user interface.

You can also adjust the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref on the about:config page starting from 1.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps (1.1) to make icons show with the preferred size. Make sure to check the value before saving the new value.

Following on cor-el's post, setting

layout.css.devPixelsPerPx

to 1.2 will zoom Firefox's menus and toolbars AND the page content by 20%. That might be a good place to start. But if you want the page content to be enlarged separately from the user interface, then please see my first reply.

Any time you want to see your old postings, log on to this site. At the top of the web page, you will see your login name. This is a link. Click it and go thru the menus.

I've found that I must go around the page clicking on anything that is a different color to try and get around. Seems like it would be nice to just have a button that says "Posts"...

Thanks, this has helped...

You will find that most web pages are like this one. Links look like normal test, but they can be colored, and underlined. You can set these options.

Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;

Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences

Then select Content.

Under Font & Colors, you can set how your page is displayed. On the far right is the Colors button. Here you can select how links are displayed; used link / unused link / even underline links.

There are also add-ons that can do these things with settings for individual sites.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.
