I need to know the url address for the mozilla firefox start page?
firefox has this set as default but my actual computer setting needs changing to this aswell. I know who to change it but I do not know what the web address is...?

The Firefox start page from Firefox 4-30 is an internal page you can open by typing about:home in the address bar and pressing Enter.
Is that what you're looking for? It's not on the web, it's actually stored in Firefox, so I'm not sure it will be useful elsewhere on Windows.
Or maybe the problem is that Firefox is using some other page as the home page. There are a number of possible reasons for this, such as add-ons or external settings files overriding your choice.
Could you describe the problem in more detail? For example:
- Does it occur when you open a new window (Ctrl+n) or only when you use your Firefox desktop icon to start Firefox?
- If you change your home page setting, does it work (you can check using Ctrl+n) for the rest of your session, or does Firefox ignore the change?
- What page (or what kind of page) are you getting instead of the usual home page?

Sorry, it's not on the internet, there's no way to open it from Internet Explorer.
Since the built-in Firefox home page is mostly a big Google search box, maybe make your IE home page:

If you prefer a Google search page with a Firefox logo then you can use http://start.mozilla.org/
