Configure Thundermail for Thunderbird Desktop
- Click the Thunderbird menu > ( for older versions of Thunderbird) > .
- Enter your Thundermail email address and follow the prompts to set up your Thundermail email account. And for versions older than 152, please click the button next to Thundermail Address Book and the button next to Thundermail Calendar to ensure your Thundermail address book and calendar are added to Thunderbird.
Thunderbird should have automatically added your Thundermail email in account settings, a CalDAV calendar called Thundermail Calendar in your Thunderbird calendar space (press Alt + 3Ctrl + 3), and a CardDAV address book called Thundermail Address Book in your address book space (press Alt + 2Ctrl + 2) to check). If any of those are missing, please try changing the settings to those in the manual settings sections below, and please create a Thunderbird Pro support ticket if you have any issues.
Manual Settings
If Thunderbird failed to add the expected items or you need to adjust them, please try manually changing the settings by following the instructions in the sections below. If manual setup fails, please create a Thunderbird Pro support ticket.
Receiving Email
- Switch to your Thundermail account: Thunderbird app menu > .
- In the left sidebar, click on your Thundermail email account. For example: nemo@thundermail.com. Then, click on the chevron “>” to expand the drop down menu. Finally, click on and set the following values:
- Server Name: mail.thundermail.com Server Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full Thundermail email address e.g. nemo@thundermail.com
- Authentication method: OAuth2
Sending Email
- Switch to your Thundermail account: Thunderbird app menu > .
- In the left sidebar, click on your Thundermail email account. For example nemo@thundermail.com. Click on and set the following values:
- Server Name: mail.thundermail.com
- Server Port: 465 Connection Security: SSL/TLS
- Username: your full Thundermail email address For example: nemo@thundermail.com
- Authentication method: OAuth2
Thundermail Calendar
- Click Thunderbird app menu > ( for older versions of Thunderbird) > > .
- For Username:, enter your Thundermail email address. For example nemo@thundermail.com.
- For Location, enter mail.thundermail.com.
- Click .
- In the Create New Calendar dialog, select your Thundermail calendar and click .
Thundermail Address Book
- Click Thunderbird app menu > ( for older versions of Thunderbird) > ( for older versions of Thunderbird) > ( for older versions of Thunderbird).
- For Username:, enter your Thundermail email address. For example nemo@thundermail.com.
- For URL/Hostname, enter https://mail.thundermail.com.
- Click .
- Select your Thundermail Address Book and click .
Send Thundermail, use your Thundermail Calendar and Thundermail Address Book, and have some fun!
- Send and receive email with Thundermail. If you have large files, you can also use Thunderbird Send. which is included with your Thunderbird Pro subscription.
- If you have a catch-all alias configured in Thundermail for a custom domain, here's how to use it:
- When composing or replying to an email, click on the email address next to From.
- Click on .
- Finally, type in an email address for the custom domain you created the catch-all in.
- Enjoy your Thundermail Calendar: Create some events, invite people to invites, etc.
- Use your Thundermail Address Book for composing email, managing your contacts, etc.
