I downloaded firefox browser yesterday. Today I uninstalled the program because it kept loading sweeptstakes pages. So I decided to get a fresh download after the uninstall and I wasn't able to successfully download the installer file. When I try to download firefox browser and I am prompted to save the installer file, I select save and get an error indicating the file is unable to be saved. No matter how many times I hit "try again" I am unable to save the file and can't get the browser. I've already tried turning the firewall off. It still doesn't work. I hope there is a solution.

Thanks for your help.

Try this:

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

Where are you downloading Firefox from?

Sure sounds like you may have had a 'sketchy' version that carried malware or adware.

I was trying to download from Mozilla.org, so it wasn't the website. It was my Internet Explorer settings that were preventing the download. I couldn't figure out which one was the problem so I ended up resetting it and it fixed the problem.
