Old computer died. Hard Drive should be ok. Going to put old hard drive into new PC as second drive. I would like to recover saved passwords to new install of Firefox.

The path on Vista and 7 is:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

AppData definitely is a hidden folder, and the steps to unhide on Windows 7 are: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hidden-files.

This article lists the different files involved in saving passwords: Recovering important data from an old profile.

Assuming the old disk was a Windows XP disk, your old profile folder should be under:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

If I recall correctly, Application Data was a hidden folder. To force Windows to show hidden files and folders, see the steps in this article: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/do.../win_fcab_show_file_extensions.mspx.

Thanks for the reply. The old machine was Vista, the new one will have Windows 7. Not sure if that makes a difference. I will try your solutions when I get the new machine.
