Firefox version 20.0.1 Thunderbird version 17.0.5 Quite often FF and occasionally Thunderbird will not load on starting the computer (both sends error report) but the only solution is to reboot. I have tried disabling extensions and uninstalling and reinstalling them with no luck. When this happens I can use Chrome or Opera with no trouble but I do prefer FF. This has been happening for a while now and I have updated both programs several times with no luck. Every thing else on the computer runs OK.

Thanks

Hello,

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Hi Tried as suggested (I think I had already tried this a month ago) but on the next boot I had the same problem and had to reboot to use FF. Thanks for trying though.
