I have tried to install the working add-on Shrunked Image Resizer on TB 68.9.0 but I get the message that it is 'not signed' and so it will not load. Am I doing something wrong? I can see other TB users are using this add on. I have only recently upgraded TB to 68.9.0.

It installs here on 68.9/W10. Drag the Download Now button from the website and drop it onto Tools/Add-ons/Extensions in TB.

Many thanks for the reply. Some time later yesterday my nephew found a way to install it for me, which may be the equivalent of what you advise in your email. I have pasted his steps below. What a pity the previous Auto Image Resizer is no longer available to Tbird users. It was great.

Regards.

1. Close down any open programs. 2. Open TBird 3. Go to Tools 4. Click on add-ons (not add on options), a new tab opens in TBird. 5. In the Find more extensions type or copy this “Shrunked Image Resizer", press enter or search. 6. It should be the only option that the search returns, like this; A screenshot of a cell phone Description automatically generated 7. Click the green button “+ Add to Thunderbird” 8. It will install the add on and ask if you wish to “add” it, click add. It then asks you to restart TBird. Do this. 9. When TBird reopens you can close the add ons tab that will still be open. 10. Once back to your inbox / normal screen you can go to Tools and then select “add-on options” select Shrunked Image Resizer. 11. You can now configure the add on, e.g. File size parameters, when to start the resize, “when attached” or “when sending”.

I have had Shrunked Image Resizer working fine for the past few days on TB 68.9.0. Suddenly it has stopped working when I send an email with attachments. I have tried different settings in the configuration, but no luck. Can anyone help please? Is there any guidance on setting this up the way you want it to work?

Your best option is to seek advice on the add-on's support page:

Make sure you don't have any other app, such as antivirus, scanning attachments or outgoing mail. Personally, I prefer to edit images with a dedicated app, outside of TB.
