Hello, My wife and I each have a computer running Windows 7 and Thunderbird 102.6.1, 32-bit. The main computer has 3 email accounts and each is operating correctly.

The second computer, with one email account, very recently stopped sending mails and I have discovered that the account, which was always set up to use a POP mail server, is now, mysteriously, set up to use an IMAP Server. It continues to receive mail. How can I sort out this mess?

Additionally, please confirm what the SMTP settings should be for username and the required password. Should they differ from those on the first computer?

Lastly, I am being shown an XUL Runner error message on the second computer: 'Platform version 106.0.4 is not compatible with minversion >= 106.0.3 maxversion <= 106.0.3 What to do? Looking forward to your kind help.

If the second computer should have same accounts as the first computer, the simple solution would be to delete accounts on second computer and use tools>import to import profile from first computer. This is a little used feature of release 102.

David, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it does not solve the problem(s).

No, the second computer is my wife's, with a different username. However, all the accounts on the two computers are registered with the same ISP - BT Internet.com - and all use its (outgoing) smtp server.

Taking things step by step, how should I restore the email account to use a POP Server?

Just to clarify. When you state that you and your wife use same smtp server, if both accounts are on the same copy of Thunderbird, be sure to use separate smtp server setups for each.

On the POP question, just create a new account in POP alongside the IMAP account. Once it is working, just delete the IMAP account.
