With the old youtube app I could switch the video between 1080p and 4K using the menu button to the fire remote. Does firefox fire support 4K?

This may not be currently available, but I have contacted one of the developers who confirmed that this is being looked into.

Firefox for Fire TV does support 4k, it is just making sure that it can support the functionality to switch to that level of video playback which is currently the outstanding issue.
