Embedded iframe video does not play on Firefox Mac
On my website, using CSS, have embedded an iframe vimeo video... the video plays just fine in all other browsers, including Firefox for Windows... BUT NOT FIREFOX MAC 28.0... I've tried various workarounds found on web, such as exchanging http with https, etc... used youtube instead of vimeo... but to no avail... extremely minimal add-ons in firefox (not my primary browser)... here is website: www.outoftheboxinsight.com ... the video is in the "Insight Into Action" section... 3rd slider... Friends using firefox replicate the problem, so it seems not to be specific to my machine...
Any help would be appreciated... thanks

That is an MP4 file played via the video tag.
Unfortunately Firefox on Mac currently doesn't support this.

Hi... thanks for the reply... unfortunately, I have no clue what you were attempting to communicate...
1. Are you actually serious that Firefox Mac does not support playback of mp4? Seriously? Was this intentional or a mistake?
2. When a video of any format is uploaded to Vimeo, Vimeo automatically converts the video to MP4.... so are you saying that Firefox Mac does not support playback of Vimeo videos?
3. As an experiment, I re-uploaded a flv file to youtube... still did not work... so I assume Firefox Mac has a problem in its coding... when will this be fixed?
4. In the meantime, I will put a notice under the video for Firefox users to view the video via another browser...
5. And I have no clue what this means: "Use GStreamer on Mac for H.264/MP3/AAC playback (instead of AV Foundation)"... how do I communicate to a visitor on our website? Is this an add-on... what?

That is only the case when the HTML5 media player is used in a video tag and there is no fallback code to use another plugin like the Flash player as is done on YouTube.
The same can happen on other platforms if there is no native support for that file type present or if it is disabled.
cor-el... thank you for attempting to reply to my original question... but I fear the communication is not going well. Your answers are both non-understandable, and do not provide a work-around. Although I am no longer a computer programmer (used to be quite a dBase programmer), I have grown up with computers since CPM and DOS... so perhaps your answers are understandable by an up-to-date HTML5 programming specialist.
There is no workaround possible otherwise than modifying the page code to make it possible to fallback to a Flash player or other plugin if the HTML5 media player isn't supported.
It won't work in older Firefox versions like the Firefox 24.4.0esr version as well.
