When I open Firefox, This pops up-------Firefox could not download the search plugin from: file:///C:/Users/JOHN%20&%20JAN/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/dkjrvd0m.default/extensions/toolbar@ask.com/searchplugins/askcom.xml
It never use to have that prompt, but now it is every time. I push ok and everything is okay again, time next time. How can I fix this?

That is a problem with the Ask.com toolbar.
You have a user agent that is corrupted by Fast Browser Search (FBSMTWB) and that identifies you as Firefox/3.0.11
