Yes, me too. Restarted FF 3 times and rebooted Computer (iMac 10.6) What's up with that?

I fixed my Mario problem. I went through all my add-ons and think I found the culprit. The problem ceased when I disabled CoolPreviews 3.0.1. Not sure is this will fix anybody else's similar problem, but it fixed mine.

Thanks all

Deactivating CoolPreviews solved this Problem..

I had the same problem.

I fixed it by simply blocking some scripts (block sound/video even on trusted sites) in noscript.

It looks like something in my netvibes.com caused this problem.

Hope I could help.

The problem is with CoolPreview folks. If you go their page, you will find multiple people gripping about the stupid Mario Bros. tune playing. THAT IS THE PROBLEM AND THE FIX IS TO DISABLE OR UNINSTALL COOLPREVIEW IN YOUR ADD-ONS PREFERENCES.

It's google's front page. they put a miniature pacman game on for today

Google may have done that, but the REAL PROBLEM is CoolPreviews add-on.

Do you seriously not know the difference between Mario Bros and Pacman?

more options

Ok, its Pacman. Whatever it is, it is completely ridiculous and totally annoying. Whatever possessed someone to think, "hey, wouldn't it be great to annoy all those people with our add-on installed, to just totally piss them off with the Pacman tune?" That person needs some real sensitivity training and understanding of the value of keeping customers happy.

more options

More like whoever coded the add-on is an idiot. Google used a brilliant piece of HTML5 to bring the iconic Pacman to the masses for its 30th Anniversary, and not only do people not recognize its ubiquitous sounds, people are annoyed at Google and Firefox, not the creators of the add-on.

No one did this on purpose, and the ones at fault are the ones who coded the Add-on. Now shut up, your problem is fixed.

I think that is what I said, that the person who did the add-on was at fault. Oh, and by the way, Anonymous (funny name), you could learn a little more social skills. Didn't your mother teach you it is not nice to tell people to shut up? But if she named you Anonymous, maybe that wasn't high on her list of priorities.

Problem and question answered. Post closed.

Simply play PacMan within the google logo. Just wait 60 seconds and insert coin.
