I tried the fix (download) on the page you referenced. Installed- rebooted and IE had taken over. No trace of Firefox. I re-downloaded FF and installed, made it the default and the links within Outlook now work. I don't know why but it worked. Thank you for your help. Now if I could figure out how to get a shortcut of FF (only) on my desktop!

What happens when you attempt to hope a link with Firefox?

It's possible that you have not set Firefox as your default internet browser, which would make your computer open a link in another browser. See Make Firefox your default browser for information on how to make Firefox the default internet browser on your system.
