blinking curser on mouse click on web sites, how to stop it

ckicking on open space used to allow th up and down arrows to move the page but now I get a blinking curser like on a word doc.

You might have turned on something called "caret browsing" by accident. To turn that off, you can use either:

the F7 key
the Options page: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced, on the General mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages"

You can disable the F7 key by setting accessibility.browsewithcaret_shortcut.enabled to false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Thanks much, f7 did it and the config page made it permanent.
