As it is , I plan to remove Windows XP & Install Windows 7 . My question is – Which are the files (with exact path) , whose backup I need to take before giving my system for Formatting so that when I install the browsers back onto the newly formatted system & restore the backed up files , I will get my Bookmarks back . HOW CAN I GET MY BOOKMARKS BACK AFTER THE FORMATTING WITHOUT REINFECTING MY SYSTEM & BROWSER AGAIN WITH THE BROWSER HIJACKER ?

I have Windows Xp Sp2 & Norton 360 installed on my System .My Firefox seems to have got hijacked . Even though I keep setting Home Page as Google , everytime I start Firefox,the “My Start Search” page gets opened .Eset Online Scanner detected a few infections which I removed . Thereafter , I ran Malware Antibytes (Trial Version) & it did not find any infectons . Have tried to manually reset every setting in the Browsers so that settings become normal . However , every time I open any browser, the “My Start Search” page gets opened . And , every few minutes , a pop up from Malware Antibytes , springs up saying “ Malicious Website Blocked ! “ & gives Domain & IP Details . After I reset Firefox Settings , it created a new Folder called “Old Firefox Data" & put it on my Desktop . It seems to have created new Profile Folders which seem to be located in the following path : C:\Documents and Settings\Michael\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Folders – (i) 3cyjiu0i.default (ii) tjna4u9a.default-1412769644093 .
