As many have noted, this change eliminates the ability to search for past calendar items. It was a useful ability, especially for interval checking (say, "How long since my last dental hygiene?") but for many other tasks as well. Search of past events needs to be reinstated, if not in the previous manner, then in another - and sooner rather than later.

why is this version so terrible in function and look.. everything seems to be bloated with unnecessary icons, empty spaces.. where a simple one line space would work there is a box or window that takes up a ton of screen space.. i.e all the wasted space where the to/from date is

Also, I can't seem to scroll through a list or email unless the window is maxxed.

my personal e-mail is @msn.com; been using it with Thunderbird for years, but lately it asks continually for my password and tells me login (imap/outlook) has failed. It's been getting more frequent and today after multiple attempts, and restarting my computer it still didn't work. I am able to use my password to sign into my msn.com account and see the e-mails using the mozilla browser (or chrome) but can't sign on at Thunderbird. I have another e-mail address in Thunderbird (at my own domain) and there have been no issues with that address. However, if I am looking at my personal/msn e-mails, then go to the other inbox and return to the msn inbox I am usually asked (repeatedly) for the msn password and login fails. The problem started a couple of weeks ago and has grown progressively worse/more frequent. Any ideas on what happened/changed and what I can do?

For some reason I'm now getting a bunch of system information showing in the header part of displayed emails and in forwarded emails. I've included two images, one that shows the information in an email that I received, and a second one that shows just part of the information when I try forwarding that email. I don't believe I've changed any Thunderbird settings nor do I recall any updates having been installed.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I would like help with this question: My two current email addresses are [edited] @crocker.com and [edited] @outlook.com. I would like Thunderbird to work with both my current email addresses. Previously, I had [edited] @crocker.com and [edited] @gmail.com working working simultaneously inside Thunderbird, but I don't understand why it doesn't work [edited] @outlook.com. I'm a beginner, and would like help in trying to get [edited] n@outlook.com to work.

When I go to send an email or hit reply, the new page is full, and I mean FULL of gobbledegook. How do I get rid of it once and for all? When sending a mail you have to press the sent button. The sendbutton on the extreme left should be switched with the addressbook button on the write so the send button belongs to the text part. I don't know how to explain this to the programmer. Greetings. Reinier.

Hello, after exporting the mail, the ZIP file weighs over 40 GB. How to restore all emails from this file to new mail? When extracting a 7zip file, various errors pop up with this archive

Lightning had the ability to search the entire calendar for an event, sadly, this new iteration of the calendar built into Thunderbird 128.0.1esr doesn't support anything but today or later events.

Most of the time I use the calendar to search for a previous event (when I was previously somewhere). This is very important and an oversight on the part of who thought the search from now until the end of time was all anyone would need.

Can the functionality be returned to search every event and not just from today onward?

Whenever I open a new event, the "Notify Attendees" option is already checked. I want to be able to open a new event and NOT have that option already checked. How can I accomplish that?

When I click on 'Outgoing Server', then 'Edit', there isn't an 'OAuth2' option listed as an option in the drop-down list for Authentication Method.

I updated to the most recent Thunderbird, and the option is still not listed.

Please let me know what I need to do to set up OAuth.

I accidentally deleted a POP account and I lost every folder that I had on that account, how can I recover it?

I tried with some recovery programs but it didn't work

How do I send emails using outlook? I tried using the Oauth2 and also closing and relogging into the account. Nothing seems to work.

I can receive emails but cannot send. See attached images.

This evening, Thunderbird has updated to the new version (can't see where the version number is held, unfortunately). Whenever I try to download new emails, I now get the message "Error with account [email address]. Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop3.iomartcloud.com responded: Mate, the command must be one of CAPA, USER, PASS or QUIT." Mails are still accessible through the mail client on my phone and through webmail, just not through Thunderbird.

I cannot receive or send any emails. Server is not authenticating. This is a sudden fault. Thunderbird is updated to 128.0.1esr (64-bit). Opening Thunderbird shows message "Authentication failure while connecting to Thunderbird imap.gmail.com”.

What is the fix for this?
