I have two systems. One is a PC that runs Windows XP SP3 and other is a laptop with Vista SP2. The other day on my PC I exported my bookmarks into both JSON and HTML, and put them on a flash drive to port over to the laptop and to import into the instance of Firefox on there (both FF version 9.01). I couldn't import the JSON file, so I tried the HTML file. At first it seemed as though nothing was working, so I re-imported twice and just shrugged, thinking: "Oh well."

Later on while I was surfing and attempted to type in a web url, and I saw the website I was looking for pop up, with a tag next to it that was what I called it on my PC's FF (called it "work" for example), and there's was a yellow star next to it. So I figured my bookmarks were in Firefox after all. I went to the show all bookmarks area in FF and tried to find my bookmarks but couldn't. Also, when I try to bookmark a page in firefox on my laptop (with Vista), I can't seem to bookmark a page.

Can anyone tells me where my bookmarks that I imported are stored, and why can't I seem to add new bookmarks? Should I look around in FF's settings? Thanks in advance.

Check Sync, a utility, already built into your Firefox. see the following article: How to sync Firefox settings between computers
