Toady when I started Firefox I lost the "new tab" which is shown by a tab smaller than the others and with just a "+" in it.

If I disable all plugins, the "+" tab appears. If I try to disable plugins manually I can't get it to appear.

Is there some setting for this that I accidentally stepped on?

Right click on top and click Customize...

Click and drag "New Tab " icon from there to the top and release it. There should be the "+" icon.

Sorry, not talking about the "new tab" in toolbar menu. I am talking about the menu tabs for the open windows. There used to always be a tab on the far right with just a "+" which would open a blank window in the browser. The "+ tab" isn't there anymore.

Dah...

Just noticed that the "+" option is now on the far left of the list of tabs...

Don't know when that happened...

On second thought I had tried the customized thing with dragging the new tab to the menu tabs to see if that would solve the problem.

So it seems that xr417's solution "solved" the problem. It isn't the behavior that I expected, but it is close enough that It will do. I'm not sure if Firefox behavior changed or what.
