I write on behalf of my elderly mother. She cannot print attachments directly when opening an email from within Thunderbird. She has to save them to her desktop and then print. As a real technophobe, this is not something she is confident doing. Is there an easy fix for this? Rob

Perhaps what you are asking for is [1], but that is currently not possible. You have two alternatives:

1. If you have saved the attachment, you should be able to right+click and pick print, which prints without opening the application (at least, it is possible with Windows 7)

2. You should be able to open them directly from Thunderbird (without saving) and have them start in the application, then print
