In Firefox setting i have selected the startup option Open previous windows and tabs in startup. Still, when i Exit Firefox it asks if i wan to close the tabs. I suppose it shouldn't? After closing and restart Firefox doesn't restore previous session as it should. Whats wrong with this setting?

I cannot currently access https://thesaker.is/ as they are under DOS attack. When I try to access the HTTP sight, firefox is automatically changing what I type, adds the S, and then it cannot connect. Please make it stop "protecting" me. Please respond to to wayne@nano-dyne for any emailed notice as checking bonin006 is inconvenient

Been using Chase.com all along for years. Just today I am unable to sign-in. I enter the user ID and password but the "sign-in" button remains grayed out and inactive. First thing I did was try Chrome and got into Chase without problem. Checked for and updated firefox, cleared Chase cookie data, no help. Using firefox version 102.0.1 (64-bit). Firefox on my iphone got into Chase OK. Surprising that a major site like Chase would be a problem with desktop firefox.

I do not know which update began exhibiting this apparent reversion bug, as i have just returned home from several weeks in the hospital due to a heart attack, and do not know how many updates i missed.

When doing a drag-drop of a URL from either a link on a page OR the address line at the top of the browser, I will receive a "sanity failure" error, ranging from an empty NON-URL file, to an OS error complaining about being unable to access an attempted directory destination.

If the link I am dragging is bereft of illegal characters (i.e., ":" -- a colon), the action will succeed.

If there IS a colon, the text to the LEFT of the colon will become the filename. The colon and everything to its right will be truncated. And, the file will be a zero-byte file of unknown (to me) type.

Other illegal characters in the page's Title field will produce more dramatic misbehavior.

PLEASE revert to the previous behavior (i.e., filtering the Title before creating the filename for the bookmark file)!

Earlier versions of Firefox (again, I do not know when this began) NEVER exhibited this behavior.

Hey everyone. I am running Windows 11 Home on my PC and have Firefox completely updated. Lately, when I use the Windows "Copy image" function, then paste that image in Firefox, the image comes out with a blue tint.

For example, I wanted to share this funny image from r/minnesota https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesota/comments/w4iaun/it_was_bring_anything_on_a_leash_day_at_the_st/ But when I paste the image (Attachment is how the image looks after pasting back into Firefox), the image is blue tinted.

I tested to see if this was just a Windows issue, but there is no blue tint if I paste the image into Word, Paint, or any other tool besides Firefox.

In firefox, protection settings are "custom" but map very closely to Strict. I am running the following addons:

Bitwarden uBlock Origin NoScript Facebook Container

Troubleshooting steps:

1. Restarted Windows, no change. 2. Copied image to a program outside of Firefox from Firefox, no blue tint 3. Created a new user profile in about:profiles, blue tint persists when copying into Firefox

I've checked a couple of the "similar topics" before posting here. I'm not sure if I am having the same problem or something else.

Back Story: I have a "few" windows and tabs open in FireFox. I would finish what I was doing, shut down and then the next time I booted up and loaded FireFox, all sessions would be restored and all log ins honoured (kept). That is: I was still logged in.

(Moving to now) Yesterday I powered up and ALL sites were logged out. About 20 log ins were needed. Hmmmmm... gmail, and the rest.

"Ok... something happened. No problems, things should be ok from now. I've logged in, so all is sweet."

Today I power up: All logs ins lost. Had to go through it all again.

Gmail is throwing security alerts at me hand over fist. Yeah, that is good in some ways. I get that part. But I've logged in.

Seems - my thoughts - that the cookies aren't being saved. But why? I haven't touched them or their settings.

Yes, I did do a clean out of older cookies. But left the gmail ones, and other sites I know I use. I have `adblocker ultimate` installed.

Now I am logged in, if I open the `cookies` and look I should see them there for the sites to which I am logged in - yes?

To be clear: When I am done, I do NOT `exit` FireFox. All windows, tabs, sessions are left. I just shut down the machine. Then next time I load FireFox and they are re-loaded and log ins are maintained.

One particular website that I login to frequently in Firefox suddenly stopped opening the login screen when I click "Login." It opens in Safari and Tor browsers, but not Firefox. How do I get the login screen to appear? I have disabled enabled Pop Up Windows for this site, but it still won't load the login screen. It works in Troubleshoot mode. What does that mean and how do I get it to load the login screen in normal mode?

I installed a plug in and have now lost all my Firefox configuration, stored pages etc. I backup my entire PC everyday and can restore individual files. What Windows 10 files need to be restored in order to return my Firefox before the crash?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. today I got a message that says your Firefox is slow and it suggested refreshing it,, it also said that my info won't be affected and after it started I noticed that all my saved passwords are gone!! please explain why it happened and how to resolve this issue and restore my passwords

when you select text and right click popup "Search google for 'text marked'" , here google is your FF's default search engine, but for people in multi-lingual region would prefer to search e.g. web in the language of the selected text, which makes more sense for the results.

I wonder if FF could add this function, auto detect the text's language and search in e.g. google.de, google.cn or google.fr?

Which is like the macOS lookup, it detect the text language and point to that dictionary?

FF could be a little more intelligent, right?

So the Reddit website seems to load, but ends up with a big old blank white page. I've cleared my cache, I've cleared my DNS cache. I've pressed ctrl + f5, I've rebooted the computer. Nothing seems to be aloowing mt to open reddit. Please advise.

I have a problem with opening files: Mozilla keeps saving them and ignores temp folder. I tried to modify browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel in about:config, but nothing happened. Can anybody help me?

Is there any way to open the about:config page to a specific setting? I frequently toggle a particular setting on and off and would like a quick way to bookmark it for easy access.

I'm thinking something along the lines of: about:config?setting=media.peerconnection.enabled

Even better would be to allow a new value to be passed in as well: about:config?setting=media.peerconnection.enabled&value=true

I recently installed Firefox 102.0.1 64-bit on a new WinX laptop. Using the same link as always (http://www.henderson.lib.nc.us/) I am unable to connect with my county library. I'm not having trouble with other sites. The error message says

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.hendersoncountync.gov. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I turned off HTTPS-Only Mode but the problem persisted. I also tried entering this site as an exception for HTTPS-Only but that didn't help. Even after restarting the computer, Firefox continues to reset the URL to HTTPS from HTTP. My wife was able to access this website on her desktop WinX with Firefox and no problem. On my WinX desktop with Firefox I connected to https://www.hendersoncountync.gov/library instantly.

Is the HTTPS-Only Mode sticky? What am I missing?

I just tried to open a new window using File, New Window. It is GONE. I always use that. Now all I get are New Tab New Container Tab (grayed out so I can't select that) New Private window, some other stuff.

The same is true if I right click. I get: Open Link in New Tab Open Link in New Private window.

What did I do to cause these changes?

Hi,

I am testing v102esr of Firefox for a rollout in September.

One of this issues I have come across is the extremely high number of processes started when opening Firefox.

We have our own website run via Windows Server using IIS. The home page has no remote content - it's all local so I don't believe any remote content is being opened. There is only one tab open.

For each new tab I open I get at least one additional process. So with 10 tabs opened I ended up with 24 processes.

In FF91esr this was 3-5 processes. I also noticed under performance settings I can no longer specify the number of processes.

Is there any way to reduce this number to something more sane, like 3-5?

Also, why is there a Console Window Host running under Firefox?

Is the Node.js also new? I don't recall seeing it before
