You can check if there are more profiles by opening the current profile folder and going up one level.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

• Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Thanks for this very helpful info. But unfortunately no luck still. There were 2 profiles. One that looks like maybe my previous profile, I see one of the addons I had installed but looks like a lot of files are missing. Then the other with what looks like it just contains data for my new profile, just has some bookmarks/plugins I just added back after this issue occurred.

You can try to use the Profile Manager to re-register the other profile to see if that brings back all or some of the lost data.
This can happen if there had been a problem with the profiles.ini file and a new file and new default profile got created.

You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and use "Choose Folder" to select the location of the lost profile and recover this profile.
