I have tried multiple suggestions from the help site. Still cannot get Thunderbird to accept settings - 

 Protocol:    IMAP
 Hostname: imap.mail.yahoo.com
 Port:           993
 Security:  SSL/TLS
 Authent    oAuth2

Not sure if att.net accounts work with Yahoo servers, even if the service is based on Yahoo mail. Try the recommended settings, e.g. imap.mail.att.net, 993, generate a secure mail key, and use it in TB instead of the account password.
