1. Make a backup of your profile 2. Turn off the automatic update: Extra - Preferences - Updates 3. Uninstall the current TB Version 4. Download the version you want to install from https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ 5. select the operating system 6. install TB on the same location as the version you downgraded from 7. Launch TB once it is installed 8. There is a warning. Choose 'New profile' 9. exit TB 10. click windows icon and 'r' key to open a command line window 11. enter 'thunderbird.exe --allow-downgrade' and press enter key

Correction. It is category manager not contact manager that I need.

> category manager doesn't work anymore

So you mean an add-on isn't working? Which one?

I had the same issue after updating to TB102. I found a best solution. I created separate books I.e one for friends, one for relatives etc. Thus also my filters work better and when I have to add a new contact, I add it to the relative address book. If in case I create a new address book. Why bother with this addon which as @Wayne Mery said and he is right does not work anymore.

Category manager is the addon and is not working.

My solution is to revert back. Can you tell how to do that.

102.2.2 is currently unusable. The only option is to revert or find another email program.

How do I disable updates. I can't find "extra" to do Extra - Preferences - Updates

Never mind I found where to set to ask before installing.

I must admit, I do not rely on this addon because Thunderbird allows you to create suitable address books and within them Mailing lists. eg: Address Book called 'Dance Members' which contains a comprehensive list of all members. However, there are different dance groups and each will need own mailing list as they have different training days and times and different competitions and news etc. So 'Dance Members' has mailing lists: 'Waltz' 'Tango', 'Modern' etc as many as you require. Members can be in more than one Mailing list. It means you can create an email or use a relevant template and send to the appropriate mailing list. No reliance on addons.

I like this addon because if a member changes their email I don't need to update all my lists. I just update that persons contact info and all my lists are good.

The revert info worked. When a new release comes out I will move to the new Thunderbird release.

It is exacly the same in Thunderbird and it has been that way for a very long time.

The member and contact data are stored in the approprate Address Book. So you access the Address Book and locate the contact, then edit that email address and it is auto changed in all lists. You do not edit anything in the the Mailing List unless you want to perhaps remove the contact from that particular mailing list; Mailing Lists is like a virtual list, showing the contact which has been selected to be in that list.

I will check it out. I have tried in the past to get this function and it never worked for me.
