I was told to reboot my system to complete a Thunderbird update.

After the system came up, my main email account wouldn't display. It was there when I went into account setting but wouldn't show. After closing an opening Tbird several times it showed up. now none pf my filters are running. In some cases it says the folder doesn't exist when it does! Most of the rules are missing actions!

I was told to reboot my system to complete a Thunderbird update. After the system came up, my main email account wouldn't display. It was there when I went into account setting but wouldn't show. You do not need to reboot a computer just to update Thunderbird or any installed program. It is more likely you had an OS update that just happened to occur at the same time. So the to complete the update message was probably to update eg: Windows OS.

If Thunderbird was running at that time, then files would have been open and in use which should have been closed prior to any reboot of computer. It is possible some files got corrupted.

The filters are probably not running because the rules are missing actions.

Do you have a backup?
