Location of TB Archive folders?
After suffering a disastrous loss of email caused by our web hosting service I've begun to use the Archive function in TB.
The objective is to not lose emails caused by others than myself.
Where are TB Archive folders located specifically? (yes, I understand they are somewhere in my default identity)
If I make a copy of the Archive folder contents located on my computer, put it in a stick drive (for example), delete the entire Archive folder contents located on my computer, can the backed-up folder contents be copied back to the former so that the emails will appear in TB as before?
Or, perhaps you can suggest a simpler way to backup emails?
Thanks,
Craig

Simply backup the entire Thunderbird profile. https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_backing-up-a-profile
Doesn't work. When trying to copy the default profile folder the following error is presented;
Filesystem does not support symbolic links
I'm running Debian
I'm no linux expert, but I've had success on linux mint copying the .thunderbird folder.
There's not much difference between Debian and Mint. Both are Linux. The problem occurred as a result of some file named "Lock" that couldn't be copied.
You'd think there'd be some add-on that could perform the back up with no complications.
It may be that you're attempting to copy while TB is active. That seems to always cause problems, also in Windows.
No, TB is closed and shutdown.
