I'd like to be able to configure the format of numbered lists, both for a particular list in an email, and as a default template that will apply to all future emails that I compose.

I can find no documentation on how numbered lists are supposed to work. Mine are currently giving me roman numerals at all levels, e.g.

1. Top level

 1. Next level
   1. Lower level

I've come across some interesting options, including particularly https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1052897, which I've tried, but it doesn't work for me.

Please help!

Actually, that solution works beautifully (I just added the code to my userContent.css file and tested it). Maybe there was an error in setting it up? Once you make the first entry, the indent and outdent buttons take over from there. You need a folder called chrome and within that a file called userContent.css (case-sensitive). If you have trouble, post a screenshot of profile and one of chrome folder contents and one of userContent.css - once you have this done, I feel you will like.
