When I look at Firefox support from Preferences in Firefox, there is a section that states "Firefox Updates This is where you can check your update history or change update settings for Firefox." The problem is Firefox does not provide for any way to change update settings.

I'm tired of being in the middle of a search, or interacting with some web site, and suddenly Firefox says that "IT" will shut down to process the update. I don't want Firefox to decide when it will restart, that needs to be my choice, or be a part of a normal reboot. I don't like that Firefox considers me to be an utter fool and incapable of deciding when it's O.K. for my workflow to be interrupted.

So, please allow the user to decide when a Firefox update will be applied. Popup announcing the availability of an update with a clear option to restart now, or restart later.

Give your users some credit for being smart.

Thank you.

hi john, this is probably happening because you have installed and are upgrading firefox through your distro's packet manager. in this case the update schedule is outside the control of firefox - and you may be interrupted in your work. when you download and use a mozilla provided firefox build, it would always apply updates at the end of a session...
