I am trying to make Firefox my default browser but when I get to the point to choose the browser, Firefox does not appear in the list of possible browsers. What can I do to see it there?

You have firefox downloaded and installed right?

You may have to re-start your computer after you install Firefox so that Windows can recognize your new browser in the default apps listing for the browser.

If Firefox shows up in your list of apps in the Apps and Features listing in System --> Apps - but does not show up when you click on the Web Browser area in System --> Apps --> Default Apps - you can use the link at the bottom of the Default Apps page - Set defaults by app

In the next screen find Firefox and click it - the next screen will allow you to set a program to use as the default for each extension type- htm, html, http, https, etc. clicking each choice will allow you to select a program (Firefox, of course) to be the new default.
