Folder will not delete

Hi

Recently reinstalled Windows 10 on my system and then reinstalled Thunderbird for my email.

I see a grayed out folder named 'New%20Folder-0' which is not one I created. If I try to delete it (from Thunderbird), I get a message that the command did not succeed and that the folder does not exist.

If I look at the BT EMAIL account via my wen nrowser, sure enough there is no such folder shown.

I suppose this means that it is a Thunderbird issue. I found a reference to 'New%20Folder-0.msf' in the Mail folders of Thunderbird, but deleting was no good as Thunderbird just re-created it.

Can any one shed light on this?

is the account IMAP or POP?

Assuming IMAP. Go to the help menu and select troubleshooting information. Click the show button for the profile folder. Close Thunderbird Open the imapmail folder in the file manager that opened open the BT folder it contains. Locate a "new folder" or "new folder 01" entry in that folder and delete it. It may be as a folder in the file system, rather than a file Restart Thunderbird.

That should remove it.

Hi Thanks for reply, but unfortunately didn't work. When I restart Thunderbird, the odd file/folder is re-created. I then found a similarly named reference in another folder named INBOX.sbd with a file named New%20folder-0 inside,, along with the re-created file/folder of the same name. I tried deleting all of them bur they were re-created again when I restarted Thunderbird.
